CHOOSE YOUR VISIT

The Cap-Blanc rock shelter

A few kilometres from Les Eyzies, the Cap-Blanc rock shelter is one of the greatest masterpieces of Magdalenian Era monumental prehistoric sculpture, bringing together horses, bison and deer.
Choose

The cave of Combarelles

Horses, bison, aurochs, lions, reindeer, etc., more than 800 engravings, accompanied by drawings, decorate the cave of Combarelles. This centre of Magdalenian culture, located on the left side of the small Combarelles valley, is also home to a number of schematic human representations, sometimes difficult to interpret.

The Cave of Font-de-Gaume

The Cave of Font-de-Gaume is one of the most beautiful Palaeolithic sanctuaries in the world still open to the public. It houses more than two hundred figurations, engraved or painted, often polychrome, of bison, horses, mammoths and reindeer. These artistic testimonies illustrate the two stylistic phases of the Magdalenian Era (around 15,000 BC).
